Martje est la gérante d’une blanchisserie prospère, mais a une vie sociale réduite. Depuis l’amputation de l’un de ses seins, elle a perdu confiance en elle. Elle tombe amoureuse de Léo, un nouvel employé. Après un incident humiliant avec lui, Martje confine l’homme qu’elle aime. Tourmentée par ses émotions extrêmes, elle perd peu à peu le contrôle de la réalité.
