A young girl struggles to come to terms with her mother’s psychological problems, while searching for her own female identity.

synopsis

Teenager Mathilde and her father ride on a motorcycle along an endless Flemish road, on their way to visit Mathilde’s mother, who has been admitted to a psychiatric hospital. Mathilde doesn’t know how to deal with this situation. As the hot summer and first love beckon her, she is torn by longing and remorse.
Tiener Mathilde en haar vader scheren op een brommer over een eindeloze Vlaamse steenweg. Ze zijn op weg naar haar moeder, die opgenomen is in de psychiatrie. Mathilde weet zich met deze situatie geen raad. Wroeging en gemis verscheuren haar terwijl een hete zomer en een eerste liefde lonken.
