EN - During a hunting party in the South of France, Katrien De Schrijver shoots her husband. She is arrested and charged with murder. The incident triggers a charged chain of events as her family is politically powerful in Brussels and her act threatens to implode on the lives not only of those directly involved, but of the whole establishment and political system.

The Divine Monster set for US remake
Flemish drama series The Divine Monster, based on a trilogy by author Tom Lanoye, is set for a possible American remake. Writer/producer Silvio Horta (Ugly Betty) has a script commitment for the project and will team up with Prison Break producer Brett Ratner to executive produce.
Miami-born Silvio Horta has a script commitment to rewrite the complex Flemish family drama series The Divine Monster. The American version features the wealthy Vega family from Miami, whose real estate empire is built upon decades of greed, corruption, general bad behaviour and an alarming number of suspicious deaths.
Hans Herbots picks up Golden Panda at Sichuan TV Festival
Flemish director Hans Herbots has been honoured as Best Director of a TV Series at the Sichuan TV Festival in Chengdu, China (16-18 November). Herbots received the Golden Panda Award for his work on drama series The Divine Monster.
Herbots was one of five nominees in the category for Best Director of a TV Series, competing against international heavyweights such as Brian Percival who directed several episodes of British drama series Downton Abbey.
The Divine Monster nabs two Sichuan nominations
Flemish drama series The Divine Monster, directed by Hans Herbots, received two nominations at the Sichuan TV Festival in China (16-18 November). Produced by Eyeworks, the series is in the running for the Golden Panda Award for Best TV Series as well as Best Director of a TV Series.
Based on the trilogy by the same name by Flemish author Tom Lanoye, The Divine Monster recounts the tragic tale of Katrien De Schrijver. When she shoots her husband during a hunting party in the south of France, the incident sparks off a remarkable chain of events.
Flanders’ finest in Paris
Jan Eelen’s successful tv series The Tour has been selected for competition at the Series Mania Festival (16 - 22 April) in Paris, France. The festival for promising TV series, organized by the prestigious Forum des Images, also invited no less than three Eyeworks productions for its line-up. Double Life, The Divine Monster and Old Belgium will feature in the fest’s ‘professional showcase.’
The Forum des Images, one of the cinema hot spots in Paris and France, launched the Series Mania Festival in 2010. The series in official competition at the festival, amongst them Jan Eelen’s The Tour, are now in the running for the fest’s much desired Audience Award.
