synopsis

In 1980, a young woman, her brother and his best friend set off on the adventure of adult life. Brimming with good intentions, they embark on promising careers: Vicky as a law student at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Marc and Franky as recruits with the Belgian Gendarmerie. But in the years that follow, they each lose their innocence and illusions. And like the rest of the country, they sink deeper and deeper into the social crisis surrounding the Brabant Killers…
En 1980, une jeune femme, son frère et son meilleur ami se lancent dans la vie d’adulte. Pleins de bonnes intentions, ils embarquent pour un avenir prometteur. Vicky, en tant qu’étudiante en droit à l’Université libre de Bruxelles, Marc et Franky, en tant que recrues dans la gendarmerie belge. Mais au cours des années suivantes, ils vont tous les trois perdre leur innocence et leurs illusions. Tout comme leur pays, ils vont s’enfoncer de plus en plus profondément dans une période sombre causée par les Tueurs du Brabant…
In 1980 stappen een jonge vrouw, haar broer en zijn beste vriend in het avontuur van het volwassen leven. Vol goede intenties beginnen ze aan een beloftevolle toekomst, Vicky als studente rechten bij de ULB, Marc en Franky als recruten bij de Rijkswacht. Maar in de jaren die daarop volgen verliest elk van hen zijn/haar onschuld en illusies. Net zoals heel het land zinken ze steeds dieper weg in het moeras dat men de Bende van Nijvel is gaan noemen…
