A portrait of the largest growing punk community in the world, which thrives - despite the odds - in Indonesia.

synopsis

"Indonesia, the country I shed my blood to defend". Left to fend for themselves on the fringes of a society and families that have stigmatised them, Jakarta's young punks speak up. The conflict of teen punk Eka with his parents is driven by an intense quest for individual freedom. Meanwhile, not so far away, at one with the land and embracing similar ideals, are the local traditional tribes who have found freedom in perfect tune with nature, but struggle to maintain their identity.
"Indonesië, het land waar ik mijn bloed voor geef." Op de rand van de maatschappij en verwaarloosd door hun eigen familie. Het conflict van tienerpunker Eka en zijn ouders wordt aangedreven door een schreeuw om individuele vrijheid. Ondertussen leven niet zo ver daarvandaan lokale tattoostammen in synergie met de natuur. Ze strijden voor dezelfde idealen maar streven ook naar het behoud van hun identiteit.
