When former naval officer Maurice witnesses his own lifeless body dangling from the mast of his sailing boat, the Beau Séjour, he sets out to investigate his own death.

synopsis

The last thing Maurice can remember is seeing his own body hanging from the mast of his sailing boat, the Beau Séjour. When he wakes up on the beach, hours later, nobody can see or hear him. He’s dead, apparently a suicide. What's going on? His family is glad to be rid of him, that much is painfully clear from their reactions to his death. So Maurice starts to investigate. Then he discovers a couple of ‘seers’, people who can still see him, and with whom he can talk… But why these specific people?' Series 2 of Beau Séjour continues the story, with different characters and settings.
Oud-marinecommandant Maurice ziet zijn eigen lijk hangen aan de mast van de zeilboot 'Beau Séjour'. Wanneer hij drijfnat wakker wordt op het strand, merkt hij dat niemand hem kan horen of zien. Even later verneemt hij dat hij dood is – zelfmoord. Maurice kan dit niet geloven. Wat is er aan de hand? Dat zijn familie hem liever kwijt dan rijk is, blijkt uit hun achteloze, soms ronduit koude reacties op zijn dood. Maurice begint zijn eigen dood te onderzoeken. En dan ontdekt hij dat er enkele ‘zieners’ zijn, mensen die hem wel nog kunnen zien en met wie hij kan praten… maar waarom net deze mensen?
