After his release from years in a psychiatric hospital suffering from PTSD, 42-year-old Hakan must come to terms with his traumatic past before he can return to normal life.

synopsis

Hakan is recovering in a military hospital with the help of nurse Ayla. After being awarded a medal, Hakan is discharged but his quest for his lost daughter Melis and Sinan, with whom he served before, confront him with his nightmares. Will these encounters help Hakan to get a grip on his past?
Hakan, een Turkse soldaat, verblijft op de psychiatrische afdeling van een militair ziekenhuis. Met de hulp van verpleegster Ayla kan hij herstellen en mag hij terugkeren naar zijn verlaten appartement in Istanbul. Hij probeert de draad van zijn oude leven weer op te nemen en de banden met zijn gezin weer aan te halen, maar de traumatische herinneringen blijven hem achtervolgen. In een poging om met zijn verleden om te gaan, gaat Hakan op zoek naar zijn oude legermaat Sinan. Kan deze ontmoeting hem helpen om in het reine te komen met zichzelf?
