synopsis

Single mother Claude M is serving a prison sentence and had no choice but to leave her son Iwan with her sister Neda. Despite never wanting a child, she has to take care of him and visits her sister in jail. Jealousy rears its ugly head as Neda gets better and better in the substitute mother role. But the worst is yet to come: she has decided to go and work in Jordan for a year and Iwan is keen to accompany her.
Claude M, een alleenstaande moeder, zit een gevangenisstraf uit, ze heeft geen andere keuze dan haar zoon Iwan achter te laten bij haar jongere zus Neda. Neda wilde nooit een kind maar moet er nu wel voor zorgen. Neda bezoekt haar zus in de gevangenis. Iwan schaamt zich voor zijn moeder. Claude moet alle informatie over haar zoon via Neda te weten komen. Jaloezie steekt de kop op, want Neda kan zich duidelijk beter en beter vinden in de moederrol. Maar het ergste bericht moet nog komen: Neda heeft besloten een jaar in Jordanië aan de slag te gaan en Iwan wil graag mee.
