Siberian villager Roman and city boy Kymm venture into the vast Yakutian wilderness hunting for a rare reindeer, while cloning-scientist Semyon searches an enormous crater for mammoth remains. In the midst of an ongoing mass-extinction, of a Siberian Ivory Rush, and at the dawn of de-extinction, a contemporary myth unfolds. While the three men close in on their goals, both the frozen earth that they walk on and reality itself melts into another state.
In de smeltende Siberische permafrost wagen drie Jakoeten zich in de wildernis, elk op een verschillende zoektocht. Dorpeling Roman en stadsjongen Kymm jagen op een zeldzaam rendier. Niet zo veel verder zoekt wetenschapper Semyon in een enorme krater naar een levensvatbare mammoet. Te midden van een aan de gang zijnde massa-uitroeiing ontvouwt zich een hedendaagse mythe. Terwijl de drie mannen hun doel naderen, smelten zowel de bevroren aarde waarover ze lopen als de werkelijkheid van hun bestaan.
