Joy Palace tells the story of Vivianne (65), who blames herself for the death of her daughter, Saskia, who drowned 20 years before. Ever since, she has been collecting stuffed animals, books and other memorabilia to keep her daughter 'alive'...

synopsis

After her daughter's death, Vivianne neglects herself and her house. For 20 years, she tries to fill up the emptiness with the accumulation of stuff. But the situation becomes unbearable and she takes a dramatic decision to alleviate her sense of guilt.
Après la mort de sa fille, Vivianne se néglige elle-même et sa maison. Pendant vingt ans, elle a rempli le vide. Mais la situation est devenue insupportable. Elle prend une décision dramatique pour se sauver du sentiment de culpabilité écrasante.
Na de dood van haar dochter verwaarloost Vivianne zichzelf en haar huis. Al twintig jaar lang vult ze de leegte op, maar de situatie is onleefbaar geworden. Om zichzelf van het knagende schuldgevoel te verlossen, neemt ze een dramatische beslissing.
