What if you want to be buried in your native soil, but that soil is two thousand kilometres away? Smile has a solution, a Belgian solution...

synopsis

If a Muslim dies in Belgium, the next of kin are faced with a major dilemma: where should the deceased be buried? Here or in the country of origin? When Ismael - Smile to his friends - takes over his father's repatriation business, he thinks he’s found the solution: "If you can't bury Muslims in the holy ground of Morocco, then we'll just bring the ground here...". A simple and ingenious idea, but without realising it, Smile has opened Pandora's box.
Wie als moslim in België het loodje legt, zadelt zijn nabestaanden op met een groot dilemma: waar moet hij of zij begraven worden? Hier of in het land van herkomst? Wanneer Ismael – Smile voor de vrienden – het repatriëringsbedrijf van zijn vader overneemt, lijkt hij dé oplossing voor het probleem te hebben gevonden: “Als je moslims niet kunt begraven in de heilige grond in Marokko, dan halen we die grond toch gewoon naar hier…”. Een even eenvoudig als geniaal idee, maar zonder het te beseffen opent Smile hiermee de doos van Pandora.
