You interview Afghan asylum-seekers and must decide for yourself, on the spot, who can stay and who must be sent back. How easy is it to make that decision when the person is sitting in front of you, in the same room?

synopsis

The Interview uses the immersive nature of VR to put you, the participant, in the position of an immigration officer. It is your first day at work and you are welcomed by a colleague who will assist you during a series of interviews with asylum seekers. You ask them questions and sift their reasons for applying for asylum. Afterwards, it is up to you to decide who can stay and who must be sent back. Your decision will have an enormous impact on the future of these people. How easy is it to make a decision when that asylum seeker is sitting in front of you?
The Interview utilise la dimension immersive du VR pour te mettre, toi, le participant, dans la peau d'un agent d'immigration. C'est ton premier jour de travail et tu es accueilli par un collègue qui t'assistera pendant une série d'entretiens avec des demandeurs d'asile. Tu leur poses des questions et tu découvres leurs raisons de demander l'asile. Ensuite, c'est à toi de décider qui peut rester et qui doit être renvoyé. Ta décision aura un impact énorme sur l'avenir de ces personnes. Est-ce qu'il est facile de prendre une décision quand ce demandeur d'asile est assis en face de toi ?
The Interview gebruikt het immersieve karakter van VR om je als deelnemer in het standpunt van een immigratiebeambte te plaatsen. Het is je eerste werkdag en je wordt verwelkomd door een collega die je zal assisteren bij een reeks van interviews met asielzoekers. Je stelt hen vragen en peilt naar hun redenen om asiel aan te vragen. Daarna is het aan jou om te beslissen wie mag blijven en wie teruggestuurd moet worden. Je beslissing heeft een enorme invloed op de toekomst van deze mensen. Hoe gemakkelijk is het om een beslissing te nemen als die asielzoeker voor je zit?
