synopsis

My childhood in Brussels was dominated by my mother's political activism. Now, with 45 years of commitment weighing heavily upon her, my mother is starting to ask who will carry on her life’s work. As a descendant of the aristocratic Kurdish Cemil Pasha family, I face a pressing dilemma: should I pick up the torch, or should I reject my family’s legacy, which nevertheless defines who I am? The film is an attempt to understand why such transmission between generations is so important for all involved, and the extent to which it can be accepted or refused.
