A bank robbery in a small town gets out of hand. Police and hostage takers start a nail-biting cat-and-mouse game that holds the town in its grip for an entire day. The series alternately looks at events from the perspective of the police, the press, the bank robbers, the victims and their families. Each new instalment lifts a tiny piece of the veil, and the viewers gradually realise there's more to this than meets the eye.
Een kleine stad wordt opgeschrikt door een uit de hand gelopen bankoverval. Een dag lang ontspint zich een uitermate spannend kat-en-muisspel tussen politie en gijzelnemers. Afwisselend toont de reeks het standpunt van politie en pers en dat van de bankovervallers, de slachtoffers en hun familieleden. De kijker leert al snel dat niet alles is wat het lijkt en ontdekt bij iedere aflevering een nieuw stuk van de puzzel.
