synopsis

Inside a psychiatric hospital, teenagers break their silence. Unable to find their place in an increasingly complex world, they reveal the fragility of their inner lives. In To Be Me, they take us into their journeys and into their minds. Where dark thoughts and loneliness collide, we also discover their longing for connection and for a place where they can exist.
Tieners, opgenomen in een psychiatrisch ziekenhuis, doorbreken hun stilzwijgen. Zij vinden met hun mentale kwetsbaarheden geen plaats in de steeds complexer wordende maatschappij. In Mag ik zijn laten ze ons toe in hun traject en in hun hoofd. In de chaos van donkere gedachten en eenzaamheid, ontdekken we hun verlangen naar verbinding en hun zoektocht naar een plek om te kunnen zijn.
