Villa des Roses is a bittersweet story about the side of love and romance. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Willem Elsschot, which has been published as one of the Penguin Classics' series. The screenplay has been written by Christophe Dirickx and Frank van Passel, who worked together on the screenplay for Manneken pis. Villa des Roses is produced by Dirk Impens for Favourite Films.
Paris, 1913. Dans la Villa des Roses, une petite pension, l’arrivée de Louise, la nouvelle domestique, apporte un changement qui est le bienvenu. Les hôtes masculins font leur possible pour séduire Louise, mais seul le charmant monsieur Grünewald y parvient. Louise lui livre son coeur et son corps. Lorsqu’elle découvre qu’elle est enceinte, elle décide de lui cacher, puisqu’il est évident que Grünewald a entre-temps trouvé un autre centre d’attention.... Villa des Roses est une histoire douce-amère sur l’amour et la romance. Le film est inspiré du roman du même titre de Willem Elsschot, qui a été publié comme l’un des livres de la série Penguin Classics. Le scénario a été écrit pas Christophe Dirickx et Frank van Passel, qui ont travaillé ensemble sur le scénario de Manneken pis. Villa des Roses a été produit par Dirk Impens pour la société Favourite Films.
