The animosity between two former friends reaches boiling point.

synopsis

After working as a crop duster in South Africa for 10 years, Rob Vandenbergh returns to Belgium to bury his father. He inherits the 'Zuidflank', a fertile piece of land in the region of Limburg known for its exquisite Chardonnay wines, and decides to stay and cultivate his own vineyard. But that doesn't go down well with Mark, a former friend and a successful wine grower himself. Driven by power and the desire to outdo each other, their animosity reaches a climax.
Na 10 jaar omzwervingen als crop duster in Zuid-Afrika keert Rob Vandenbergh terug naar Vlaanderen om, samen met zijn moeder Lydia, zijn vader te begraven. Zijn nalatenschap bestaat uit de Zuidflank, een wijngaard die elk jaar een schitterende Chardonnay wijn oplevert, en die al generaties lang de inzet is van de vete met de familie van Mark Deweerdt, een vroegere vriend van Rob. In plaats van zijn geërfde grond te verkopen en weer te vertrekken, besluit Rob op de Zuidflank zijn eerste stappen als wijnbouwer te zetten wat de concurrentie- en machtsstrijd tussen de oude jeugdvrienden naar een climax brengt.
