Nineteen-year-old Mickey wants to spread his wings and start his own life but his mother, who has been locking herself up in her own house, is holding him back. When the annual carnival comes to town, he comes up with a plan that will change everything.
De 19-jarige Mickey wil weg uit het dorp waar hij samen met zijn moeder woont. Wanneer hij een vaste job aangeboden krijgt wil hij niets liever dan elders zijn leven opbouwen, maar hij is verantwoordelijk voor zijn moeder die haar eigen huis niet meer uitdurft. Verstrikt in de strijd tussen wat hij wil en wat van hem verwacht wordt, bedenkt hij met de komst van de jaarlijkse kermis een drastisch plan dat alles zal veranderen.
