When detective Juliet Dumon moves back to the seaside town where she grew up, she must confront the ghosts of her past along with the complications of the present.

synopsis

After her father’s death, detective Juliet Dumon leaves Brussels and heads back to De Haan, where she takes a temporary post with the local team of detectives. At the same time, she looks for a foster family for her teenage niece, Chloë. Juliet throws herself into her new job, but is confronted with her unprocessed guilt surrounding the death of her mother, as well as her own ambiguous feelings about motherhood. As time passes, she grows closer and closer to Chloë.
Na de dood van haar vader verlaat rechercheur Juliet Dumon Brussel en keert terug naar De Haan, waar ze tijdelijk aan de slag gaat bij de plaatselijke recherche en intussen op zoek gaat naar een pleeggezin voor haar tienernichtje Chloë. Terwijl ze zich op haar nieuwe baan stort, wordt ze geconfronteerd met haar onverwerkte schuldgevoelens bij de dood van haar moeder en haar eigen ambigue gevoelens tegenover het moederschap, maar groeit ze steeds dichter naar haar nichtje toe.
