Trollie is a light-hearted Christmas story, which starts with the arrival of an ill-mannered troll. The troll's presence causes Max to flourish, and changes him from a withdrawn bookworm into a self-confident youngster who is capable of building up a friendship.
Trollie wordt een komische kerstvertelling, waarbij de komst van de ongemanierde trol ervoor zorgt dat Max opbloeit van een teruggetrokken boekenwurm tot een zelfverzekerde jongen die in staat is vriendschap te sluiten. Het is ET voor een nieuwe generatie en in een nieuwe arena: de sprookjesachtige boswereld met trollen, een chagrijnige kabouter en zelfs een eenhoorn. Maar belangrijker dan de sprookjeswereld zelf, speelt de vertelling zich het meest af binnen de familie van Max, die op het punt staat door onenigheid over Mimi's nalatenschap uit elkaar te vallen.
