After a long time apart, the members of the Vidal family gather at their villa on the Costa Brava. This will be their ‘last summer’ with grandmother, Angela, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. Fourteen-year-old Nora feels out of place: she is too old to play with the kids, but does not yet belong with the adults. Then Libertad arrives. She is the teenage daughter of Rosana, Angela’s Colombian carer. Rebellious and beautiful, Libertad becomes Nora’s only source of excitement and adventure, and the two girls quickly form a dangerous and uneven friendship.
